Cypherpunk firmware V2.4.4 adds Zcash support for 33-word SLIP39 Shamir Backup shares. A configured threshold of shares can be combined to recover the wallet, reducing dependence on one physical backup.
Recovery precautions
- Follow the share count and threshold options presented by the device.
- Store shares in separate, secure locations; anyone who obtains the threshold number can recover the wallet.
- Test the documented recovery process before relying on the backup for significant funds.
- Do not photograph, scan, or type recovery shares into an internet-connected device.
SLIP39 shares are not interchangeable with a standard BIP39 recovery phrase. Confirm the backup format before starting a recovery.
